Samsung has been won the race of the first Flexible and curved display Smartphone. The company was announced late Tuesday evening of galaxy Round incorporates the latest in the flexible and curved display screen along with the unique features. Samsung's first "curved" smartphones Galaxy Round at the Electronics and IT Industry Fair in Goyang, north of Seoul, Oct. 10, 2013. The device was resembles from the Samsung Galaxy S3 and Galaxy S4. Samsung makes Galaxy devices across the size and form factor spectrum and it announced the Galaxy Round Smartphone with concave front display.
It basically looks like a Note 3 that was put into a back pocket and sat on. We have seen many convex Smartphone’s with glass panels, including galaxy nexus, but this was new flexible OLED model. As a result of its unique curved design, users can take advantage of round integration experiences like the Roll Effect that enables user to check information such as date, time, missed call and battery easily when home screen is off, and the Gravity Effect for creating visual interaction with the screen by tilting the device, Undoubtedly, the biggest highlight of the Samsung Galaxy Round is its curved display. Its 5.7” Super Flexible AMOLED unit with Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels).
Samsung wrote in a statement. "When the Galaxy Round's display is off while the music player is running, a short press to the left of the device will play the previous track while a short press to the right will play the next track. For pictures and videos, the Side Mirror feature enables users to gain access to list of the album content with a left and right tilt." I'm not quite sure why about curved display, but it may make the phone feel a bit better when resting against your face.
