Coronavirus (CoV) are a group of viruses that cause diseases in animals and birds. The virus causes respiratory infections which are typically mild, but may rarely be lethal. It is new to humans species.  According to World Health Organization: WHO investigation, SARS-CoV was transmitted from civet cats to humans and MERS-CoV from dromedary camels to humans. Several known coronaviruses are circulating in animals that have not yet infected humans. There are no vaccines or antiviral drugs that are approved for prevention or treatment.

Coronavirus origins in humans: 

  • On 31 December 2019, WHO was alerted to several cases of pneumonia in Wuhan City, Hubei Province of China. The virus did not match any other known virus. 
  • One week later, on 7 January, Chinese authorities confirmed that they had identified a new virus. The new virus is a coronavirus, which is a family of viruses that include the common cold, and viruses such as SARS and MERS. This new virus was temporarily named “2019-nCoV.”
  • On January 24th, Taiwan confirmed three cases registered as coronavirus. 
  • On January 25th, Australia identifies cases registered as coronavirus
  • On January 25th, Japan confirmed three cases registered as coronavirus. 
  • On January 25th, Malaysia identifies cases registered as coronavirus.  
  • On January 26th, In China 1,975 cases were confirmed in mainland China, with full or partial lockdowns in 15 Chinese cities as authorities attempt to limit the virus's spread. The death toll rose to 56, with all cases occurring within the country. 9 month-old baby is the youngest known case to be confirmed so far and she is from Beijing.
  • On January 26th, South Korea reported 3 confirmed Coronavirus cases, Thailand confirmed 8 cases, Nepal, Singapore, France are among few cases are found.

Coronavirus symptoms: 

Coronavirus symptoms in humans according to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, U.S. Department of Health & Human Services are.

  • Coronavirus Cold symptom are slow progressive, running noise, very short breath and not able to breath.
  • Coronavirus Flu symptoms are for sometime you would be feeling you may have a high fever, headache and muscle aches, cough, sore throat, and tiredness and sometime not at all.

If might feel extremely uncomfortable in above symptoms rush immediately to emergency services

Currently No direct Treatment options available. It's treatments are all supportive therapy, means if you can't breath they get you oxygen, If you're kidney aren't functioning they provide Dialysis, If you can't breathe they get you intravenous fluids (IV). By supportive therapy It's hoped to help body's Immune system builds Antibodies which fights with foreign cells.  An antibody (Ab), also known as an immunoglobulin (Ig), is a large, Y-shaped protein produced mainly by plasma cells that is used by the immune system to neutralize pathogens such as pathogenic bacteria and viruses.
