Samsung Galaxy Gear Smart watch Review - Compatibility

Samsung-Galaxy-GearSamsung released the most anticipated device 'Galaxy Gear smart watch' one month before. But initially it has been designed to work with the latest android technologies and the Bluetooth 4.0 protocol(which consumes very low power). Initially, this device has the support to the Galaxy Note 3 and the Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet where they use the android version 4.3. The Samsung Electronics, Korea announced today that the Galaxy Gear will be available for use with Galaxy S4, S III, and Note II through the Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) update. Samsung may also extend Galaxy Gear compatibility with GALAXY devices – including Galaxy S4 mini, S4 Active, Mega 5.8, Mega 6.3, and S4 zoom – through a separate software update.
"Extending Galaxy Gear compatibility to more Galaxy devices reflects our deep commitment to continuing to deliver enriched mobile experiences to our consumers" said JK Shin, CEO and President of IT & Mobile division, Samsung Electronics.

Galaxy Gear Review-specifications

Galaxy Gear has come up with the Super AMOLED display with the 1.63 inch with the satisfying sharp 278 PPI. It has been crammed with the resolution of 320*320 pixels into that smaller screen. It is provided with only one physical button which is located at the top right of the device. It is powered by 800 Mhz processor clock and the 512 MB RAM which is quite reasonable to fit into that small device.

It is provided with the 1.9 mega pixel camera which is fine to take pics readily. It also has the support to square video (506*506 pixels), but can only take video upto 15 seconds. The watch also has a couple of microphones so you can talk into your wrist to make phone calls, look up information, or take memos. Like most phones these days, the Gear comes with some pre-installed apps, and then there are a handful others you can download from Samsung's mini app store. It comes pre-installed with apps for Notifications, Weather, Voice Memo, Camera, Photo Gallery, Media Controller, Pedometer, Calculator and S Voice.

Galaxy Gear has the ability to receive gmail notifications but it does not opens the mail. So your galaxy smart phone or tablet has to be used. It is pre-loaded with Samsung's Gear manager software. Basically, any customization you want to do for your device is done through this app. It notifies users of incoming messages, such as calls, texts, emails and alerts, delivers a preview of those messages and creates the opportunity for users to accept or discretly ignore those messages.

If you compare the Gear and Sony SmartWatch, the Gear seems to be better in terms of weight, screen size and resolution, and oh yes-that capability to locate a misplaced phone is awesome! Calorie tracking isn't bad either, especially with those of us who are into weight loss and watching. But they'll need to carry the phone as well during the jog...
The Sony SmartWatch carries the day in terms of battery life, social media and
remote camera control. Bet it's a choice one has to make, just like with every
other device. An interesting review I read on Squidoo on the Gear for those interested:

This means that the pixel density on this new model is slightly higher at 306PPI.
Windows Phone was among the rare options for mobile OS till date.

By law no debt settlement company has any legal standing to actually stop these calls.
