Change the default installing location in windows

By default Windows installation location goes in "C" Drive, So all application programs will install into default directory which for Windows 32-bit is C:\Program Files and in Windows 64-bit is C:\Program Files and C:\Program Files(x86).

Due to hard disk space limitations some users keep their OS partition to minimum. So it is Quite hard to install the applications in C drive, so we bought this tweak. With this we can change this default application program installed files location, following this windows tweak method.
Follow below steps:

  1. Going to Run [Win+R] (or) usually [Start > Run]
  2. Type regedit.
  3. Register editor will pop up. now follow the below steps
  4. Browse to the following: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersion
  5. Goto :  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
  6. Expand SOFTWARE
  7. Now Right click on ProgramFilesDir
  8. Change it to your favorable one
  9. Click ok.

Now you have completed to modify the default installation location in windows. If require, restart your computer to apply those modified changes. Same procedure follows for Windows 7,8 and Windows 10.
