Day by day internet users have been growing widely and has been surfed through mobiles and systems. As internet charges are been charged for browsing the internet services different Telephone operators charges with different plans. As well known internet charges are increased, here now Uninor’s nominated CEO “Morten Karlsen Sorby” said in a statement that Uninor will be offering the telecom industry’s cheapest access to popular social networks Facebook and WhatsApp, to double its data users and income in 2014.
In some part of country Uninor is offering both apps at fixed prices, instead of measuring usage through megabytes and gigabytes. For example, an hour of surfing unlimited Facebook app usage will cost 50 paise for a Uninor customer, while the usage trough the whole day will cost 1. WhatsApp will cost RS1 for a day and RS5 for the week. This may increase the internet user from 40% to 50%.
The service will be available for Uninor customers in Gujarat, Maharashtra and Goa circle by end of this month. Earlier, Tata DoCoMo and RCom too had announced similar offers. In December last year, Tata Docomo had announced two unlimited Whatsapp packs for its prepaid users for Rs 15 and Rs 30, offering 15 days and 30 days of validity respectively. Rcom in 2012 had announced similar unlimited Whatsapp and Facebook offer for its prepaid subscribers for Rs 16 per month only.
Thus the SMS revenue will be falling down by this offers, it is to make these services the cheapest on Uninor. This may increase the internet users. So as soon other telecom operators may also change their data charges to be competitive.
