OnePlus TV is expected to come in four screen sizes. According to a recently surfaced Bluetooth SIG certification, the TVs may come in a 43-inch, 55-inch, 65-inch and 75-inch screen sizes. Of these, the 75-inch variant may launch only in US and China. Speculations suggest that OnePlus TV may launch as soon as the end of next month (September). However, so far there’s no official confirmation about the same. OnePlus TV is likely to launch first in India. Considering the important market that India is for the Chinese smartphone company this may not be surprising. The country could be the first to get OnePlus TV buy in India. Other markets that OnePlus TV may launch in include China, Canada and the US.
As per the listing on Bluetooth certification website, the OnePlus TVs may come with Full HD resolution as well as QHD resolution. The QHD resolution might be for the 65-inch and 75-inch models. Though no price details are available for OnePlus TV, speculations suggest that the company may keep them in the same range as Xiaomi Mi TVs. Xiaomi has made rapid strides in India with its range of sub-Rs 50,000 TVs. OnePlus may try to take on its Chinese rival with similar-priced offerings.
OnePlus will be playing safe by using Android interface for its TVs. Android TVs have proven to be successful around the globe, giving users access to all the desired streaming apps. While Sony, LG and Samsung use their interface, companies like Xiaomi and VU use stock Android UI. Since OnePlus TV is said to use Android UI, it may also bring Google Assistant voice control onboard for easy navigation. In addition to this, the company’s first TV will also have an integrated camera, which can be used for video calling on a big screen.
One of the biggest highlights of the upcoming OnePlus TV is likely to be its design.
